What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health.

Practitioners consider each individual to be unique and recommend personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach.

Practitioners never recommend nutritional therapy as a replacement for medical advice and always refer any client with ‘red flag’ signs or symptoms to their medical professional.

Nutritional Therapists are uniquely trained to understand how nutrients and lifestyle factors influence the function of the body. It is a practice used to assess the cause of disease and provides a therapeutic protocol that addresses the root cause rather than just the symptoms. By consuming the correct foods the body will receive the nutrients needed to restore and maintain optimum health. Nutritional supplements may be recommended.

Naturopathy

Naturopathy combines scientific knowledge with a traditional medicine approach. A naturopathic practitioner may prescribe natural remedies such as herbs, tissue salts and homeopathic remedies.

Naturopathic Nutrition is guided by the following six principles:

The Healing Power of Nature

trust in the body’s inherent wisdom to heal itself

Identify the Cause

Address the underlying cause rather than just treating the symptoms

First Do No Harm

Use the most natural, least toxic and least invasive therapies

Treat the Whole Person

Assess not only the physical condition but also the factors that influence health and well-being

Therapist as Teacher

Educate people in the art of self-care and the steps they need to achieve optimal health

Prevention

Encourage the promotion of health and prevention of disease

Client testimonials

Basma and Hani

“Having decided to have a lifestyle change, my husband and I embarked on an 8 week course with Suzannah, and are now changed people, with masses more energy and a new attitude to food! Suzannah offered us weekly sessions at our home (lots of fun!!) in addition to fantastic support and encouragement by telephone and emails.  Suzannah delivers and we highly recommend her!”

Chloe

“I am on a ten week consultancy package with Suzannah and am learning how to eat correctly, feel well and be more cheerful. Suzannah has given me quick and easy recipes that fit with my daily routine. Most importantly, she has helped me understand my inner-self and emotions. I am delighted to have lost weight and continue to lose more, all thanks to Suzannah’s nutritional skills and empathy.”

Laura

“I have followed Suzannah’s online spring programme, which I found really inspirational.  I loved getting messages every day with little snippets of valuable information. In fact, I enjoyed it all the recipes so much, I signed up to do the summer programme too. Thank you Suzannah for all your help.”

Francesco

“Suzannah has been instrumental in helping me lose nearly 10kg during the course of a 12-week program. She has been incredibly supportive and taught me how to plan my meals in a way that no one else has ever done before! The program has also helped me reduce fatigue and generally boost wellbeing, in addition to opening my eyes to some mouth-watering dishes and healthy snacks to take me through the day. I couldn’t recommend her enough.”

Filip

“Having just completed a 12 week program with Suzannah I could not be more satisfied with the outcomes and my experience. In that period I have tremendously improved my wellbeing and lost 16kg! Suzannah is very knowledgeable but not overwhelming with information. She has been a great support throughout the entire program and offered a tailor-made solution. The whole experience was very relaxed and pleasant thanks to her flexibility and care offered. If you are thinking about addressing your nutrition, I could not recommend Suzannah enough.”

David

“After 12 weeks of your help, guidance, encouragement and perseverance I have been transformed from a grumpy 78-year-old, obese, depressed man into an active (but still overweight, ongoing slimmer), cheerful and happy person. I cannot thank you enough.

With the improvements in my diabetic control I am enjoying the benefits of losing the nasty side of diabetes such as skin complaints and muscular pain. When I look at myself in the mirror, I feel I glow! I feel 10 years younger.”

Rachel

“I have been struggling with weight since I stoppied smoking, menopausal and lack of time to exercise due to business travels.

Suzannah guides me with food plans that suit my taste and my lifestyle and she always has new ideas for me, making the weekly meetings fascinating, amusing, happy and highly professional.”
